Beneath the Western Sky - Spring Quilt Market 2021
Colors and inspiration:
Throughout my life, I have lived, vacationed, and spent some of the best times in the Western half of the United States; states including Colorado, Idaho, Arizona, Utah, California, New Mexico, West Texas, etc. The “Beneath the Western Sky” fabric collection is a culmination of some of my favorite memories, colors and images that have stayed with me through the years. The oranges and pinks tell the story of brilliant sunsets as the light reflects off the red rocks. The dark navy is the perfect canvas for the brightest moon and stars. The greens are soothing warm greens that remind of me pine needles but also cactus and other Western plants and trees. The seafoam is a warm combination of blues and greens that reflect the brilliant sky and the precious stones that can still be found in the hills.
The motifs in “Beneath the Western Sky” include animals such as a wolf, bear, elk, moth, and fox and landmarks such as cacti and mountains. And of course, “Beneath the Western Sky” wouldn’t be complete without lots of moons and stars. Just like all of my previous collections, this fabric collection is full of wildflowers and fabrics that sing of all things outdoors. Geometric Western prints and a sketchy line graph blender round out the line and tie everything together into a great Western story!
“Beneath the Western Sky” features warm, earthy tones that are perfect for year-round sewing but are especially perfect for Fall sewing since the collection ships in September! <3
Are you ready to go on this Western adventure with me? I am so excited to see what YOU create with “Beneath the Western Sky” fabrics! Two new patterns will be released with this collection: “Desert Blossoms” which will be a PDF download available in my Etsy shop and “Desert Moon” which will be produced, distribute, and kitted by Riley Blake Designs.
Happy Trails!!
